Agtec trellis support netting can be used either vertically or horizontally and in multiple layers to support your plants as they grow. This green netting better blends in with crops, and is ideal for those wanting a more natural looking support system. Manufactured with high quality UV stabilized polypropylene, this netting is long lasting, flexible and light.

Trellising improves air circulation, sun exposure, and use of space. It reduces ground contact and allows for easier harvesting.  As a vertical support, it is ideal for growing vegetables like peas, tomatoes, pole beans and cucumbers. The plants attach easily to the net with no additional tying necessary.

Additionally most bugs see on the UV spectrum and are not attracted to green colors, so this trellis helps to keep them off your plants.

Trellis in horizontal layers to provide stem support for plants. Plants grow taller through the netting without the needing to be continually handled and re-tied to supports. Great for flower beds, for plant varieties with fragile flowers and stems, and popular with medical marijuana growers.

Attaching a monofilament cable to the double reinforced edge can help to prevent any sagging, and improve the overall performance of the trellis. We recommend using with the Agtec monofilament accessories and tensioning tool to maintain tension in your trellis throughout the growing season.

Vertical Installation

To install Agtec trellis support netting vertically you would put support posts down your rows at approximately every 24' apart. Then you attach netting to the support posts using string or twine. Next snake a support cable such as monofilament support wire (available separately) or other strong cable or string through the netting at the top to support the netting. Then simply tie your plants to it as they grow. This netting is very versatile and you could be inventive such as making vertical cages.

Horizontal Installation

To install the Agtec trellis netting horizontally for larger crops such as tomatoes where you would need only 1 or 2 layers you could install the netting over a poly tunnel or a similar frame and simply allow the plant to grow through the netting. The netting is very versatile and there is many ways you can install this to support your plants such as putting over a hoop house or tunnel so that the crops beneath them grow through.

For smaller plants such as flowers you would need several layers that are close together. First start by putting 4  wood or metal posts in the ground. The first 2 should be placed in the ground the width of your netting, the second 2 should be placed 6 - 20' away. The height of the posts would depend on what you are growing.

Next screw or bolt wooden cross bars between the posts 1 and 2 and also between posts 3 and 4 at the different heights you are going to space your layers of  trellis support. This will depend on how tall your plants grow.

Next attach your netting to the cross bars by wrapping them around the cross bar and then tying string or zip ties around the netting and cross bar to hold in place.

Next unroll the trellis support netting and attach to the cross bars between posts 3 and 4. You can continue the row by putting support posts and cross bars every 20' apart and make the layer as long as you want. Then do the next layer the same way.

You may be advised to strengthen the edges with monofilament or string to stop the edges from sagging.  Your plants should now be very well supported as they grow up through between the layers.
