A refractometer tests the concentration of solids in an aqueous solution through testing the samples refractive index. The data is then converted to Brix which is a unit of measure of the sugars in a solution.

This refractometer is designed to give extremely accurate measurements of low-concentration solutions. It achieves this high level of accuracy by testing a reference solution that is close to the Brix level of the sample being tested. For example if a reference solution of 8.000% Brix is used then measurements can be made from 8% to 10% brix with a resolution of 0.001%.

Through differential testing and a digital display this meter takes out any human error or zeroing error to produce extremely accurate results. This is important when testing sanitizers, disinfectants, surfactants, anti-rust agents and other fluids which require a high degree of accuracy.
