Geotextiles, Soil Stabilization

Geotextiles_S2Geotextiles are permeable textile materials used with soil for seperation, stability, erosion control or to aid in drainage. Usually geotextiles are placed at the tension surface to strengthen the soil. All our geotextiles are versatile landscape and ground cover materials with numerous applications however some fabrics are preferred for specific applications more than others.

  • Woven slit films are preferred for hardscape applications such as under walkways, roads, parking lots to stabilize sub soil.
  • Non-woven geotextiles resemble felt and provide a path for water to flow. They are commonly known as filter fabrics. Typical applications for non-woven geotextiles include aggregate drains, asphalt pavement overlays and erosion control.
  • Polyspun materials are prefered for weed control applications due to their high strength and light blockage properties.
  • Spunbond materials are preferred for general landscaping due to their high puncture resistance and versatility.
  • Geogrids are used for heavy duty soil reinforcement, stabilization and erosion control.
