Choosing the right bulb is extremely important whether you’re trying to grow plants, gain vegetation, produce flowers or grow fruit. Bulbs can be chosen based on the size of the operation, the plants being grown or the budget of the grower.
High pressure sodium and metal halide bulbs are extremely bright, efficient lights that replicate sunlight and produce quick growth. Fluorescent bulbs are a cheaper option and do a great job of growing plants but don’t produce the temperatures that other bulbs do.
LED lights are starting to become popular with growing plants and are very efficient but can lack the intensity of other bulbs. Bulbs usually come in either “grow” temperatures or “bloom” temperatures, depending on what the grower wants from the plant.
