This pocket moisture meter is ideal for testing the moisture content of wood in its many forms with the ability to test 8 wood groups with calibrations for approximately 170 species of wood. Working with damp building wood for studding or trim can lead to warping or bowing as the wood dries.

Dry materials are better for construction purposes and give a more stable and level finished product. This meter is also great for testing the moisture content of firewood. The heat produced from a single piece of firewood increases as the moisture content decreases.

Knowing the moisture content of the wood or how seasoned it is can be the difference between a smoldering fire and efficient wood heat. With a rugged impact resistant exterior housing and replaceable test pins for durability and accurate testing.

This meter has the added benefits of a temperature probe which is great for testing the wood temperature or air temperature. Obviously warmer temperatures can help to dry wood more quickly which would be beneficial for firewood but not certain building materials. The included temperature probe is great for measuring wood moisture in hard to reach and awkward places. The MO220 Wood Moisture Detector User Manual is attached to this page to answer any additional questions.
