Lamotte Standard Turbidity Reagent 500ml - 7520-L

Standard Turbidity Reagent is used as a comparative tool to determine the turbidity of a sample of water. For example, a water sample is compared to a "clean" water sample side by side in test tubes with a black dot on the bottom. When looking down the columns of water the black dot should be easy to see and clear in the "clean" water test tube. In the sample tube the dot will be either clear (zero turbidity), hazy or even not able to be seen.

If the dot is hazy or can't be seen then Standard Turbidity Reagent is slowly added to the "clean" water tube until the haziness is equal to the sample tube. The number of times the Standard Turbidity Reagent is added relates to the turbidity measurement of the sample water. Essentially, the Standard Turbidity Reagent has a known turbidity value and is used to compare to samples.
